Teeth whitening is an expensive affair. You can go to the dentist and it can cost you hundreds of dollars to get a perfect smile. There are also expensive professional teeth whitening kits that you can buy at the drugstore. There are many inexpensive methods you can use to whiten your teeth, and most do not require an over-the-counter whitening aid.
Change your diet or lifestyle
This is the cheapest tactic anyone can follow. Often the color of our teeth is influenced by our lifestyle. Things like smoking, drinking coffee or eating Coke make our teeth yellow. So just avoid keeping your white smile. Your body will also be healthier if you avoid that junk.
Use of hardwood ash
My intention is not to use that leftover black charcoal, but the leftover white charcoal after you’re done burning. This residue contains something called potassium hydroxide. It can be mixed with your toothpaste to give you whiter teeth.
Brushing teeth with baking soda
A proven method that always works is using baking soda. Besides removing that stain from the carpet, you can also use it to remove stains from your teeth. You can apply it with a cotton swab dipped in baking soda or mix it with toothpaste.
Use strawberries for a “sexy smile”
Do you know why strawberries have a sour taste? This is because it contains malic acid. Another use of malic acids is to whiten your teeth. You can cut a strawberry in half and rub it on your teeth. Don’t forget to brush your teeth afterwards, as it also contains sugar that is harmful to your teeth.
All these methods are cheap and effective, although they take a long time to see the effect. But even if it’s natural and cheap, it will still damage your teeth if done too much. So be careful and only apply it once or twice a week.
